Social media is a constantly changing landscape. Trends come and go, but you need to be aware of what's happening right now if you want your brand to stay relevant. But how do you decide what trends to jump on and work out what will resonate with your audience? You can use social media trends as an opportunity for engagement with your customers and prospects and in this post we'll look at some ways to react quickly and appropriately when trends emerge on social media platforms - along with things to consider if you're going to get it right.


React quickly but not rashly.

Social media can be a fast-paced environment and it’s easy to get carried away by the latest trends. While you should definitely take advantage of new opportunities that present themselves, don’t just jump on every bandwagon that comes along - especially if it doesn't fit with your brand or purpose. Take time to think about how your content will be received by your audience and whether it fits with their expectations. If you’re unsure, it’s probably best to hold off on sharing the content until you can take a closer look. If you do decide to share, make sure that you explain your reasoning behind doing so and provide context for why it's relevant to your audience.


Be authentic and true to your brand.
